LONDON - Day 1 & 2

London was fantastic.  On pretty much 11 hours of sleep in the past two days we were able to cover a lot of ground in such a short period of time.

Day 1
As soon as we were able to get into London we dropped our luggage off at a friends hotel and hit the town.  We walked, and walked, and walked.  We weaved in and out of the side streets, wandered through Kensington Park, made our way to Buckingham Palace, checked out Big Ben, wandered the grounds of Westminster Abbey, and ended the evening with  wonderful dinner with Kian's cousin & family.  When my head hit the pillow I was out.

Day 2
Back to Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guards.  Although we were a little late to see the guards and band arrive, we were able to see them leave.  :)  There were so many people.  Crazy busy, but very cool to see vs. on T.V.  While making our way to explore some more we ran into Prince Charles the Pelican.  It's not everday that when walking along the walking path and enjoying the views you come across a massive, beautiful Pelican.  He was so cute.  Alot cuter than the actually Prince Charles.  :)  We continued to weave through the side streets and ended at the Camden market. I have never been to a market with so much funk.  It was fantatic and nice to do something so different. After the days events we went back to Kian's cousins house for a nap and delicious Persian Meal.  They were fantastic hosts.  Once we left their house our crazy night began.  I thought it would be cool to experience London at night and see these amazing structures all lit up at night.  In case you didn't know, London on Sunday evening is pretty quiet.  Pubs close early, trains don't run that late, and really nothing is open.  We walked along the river, checked out the London Eye, Big Ben, the London Tower Bridge, and Tower of London.  This all started around midnight.  The highlight of the evening was the London Tower Bridge.  The bridge is so beautiful.  I would say this was my favorite place we visited.  We went at the best time and there was no one there other than us and a few workers taking down the olympics sign.

It was a fun filled two days in London.  We caught a bus for the airport at 3:45am to catch our plane to Paris.  We are still working on no sleep.  I will fill  you in on my Paris experience soon.

To be continued.......
